I see they’re rocking the “aging boyband” look.
His later Tweets indicate that he did change it temporarily, but I missed it. What did he change it to? Did anyone see?
I KNEW I SHOULD HAVE CAPPED THEM. First it was an older grey-scale picture of him looking down and generally being ~troubled for the camera~, then he switched to a shot of Sam Tyler on the roof in the Life on Mars finale.

He changed it to Sam Tyler, standing on the roof in the last ep of LoM.

SO, BASICALLY:
I love you guys. (Especially you, iamsonothere.) I knew I could count on you lot! :3 Now I don’t have to be bitter that I missed the icon-changing action.

The Pixies - Monkey’s Gone To Heaven
This one’s for Davy Jones
Still can’t get over the fact that John Simm made this exact connection on Twitter.
*sigh* tell me about it. Although I also wish he had the skills not to take the bait and give into the rage. Or let the few arseholes reinforce his (and almost everyone’s) ideas of sci-fi fans being dicks/weirdos with no lives. It just doesn’t pay to lose one’s temper or to give into ideas like that (after all, it’s the geeks who buy his DVDs). Easier said than done if you’re a sensitive person, I know.
This. His moods, in situations like that, swing faster than a pendulum and that’s where the internet really hurts, not helps, him. He’s never had the skills to let stuff go (which I get; I can’t judge him, but still). I always think of that interview about the angry fan letter and how he wrote one back, but didn’t mail it. The man seriously needs a little cool-off period when he starts getting upset and taking things personally, as he does, so the instant gratification aspect of Twitter is so counterproductive there. I picked up on the whole sci-fi fan thing, too, and it makes me sad. The weird bit is that the only rude tweets he responds to seem to be about 1) football and 2) The Master. He cares so deeply about how that character is viewed but is put off by the fanbase. Not sure what to make of that. He seems to benefit from hindsight, though, and at least he’s self aware enough to have joked about being a #sensitiveactor, so I always hope that eventually he’ll kind of get that many (most?) fans aren’t/can’t be represented by the few really fucking vocal people who think that celebrities are on the internet to cater to their needs.
